n an NBA road game.

``Like Christmas,'' Wall said.

Nick Young scored 31 points, Wall added 19 with 14 assists and the Washington Wizards snapped a 25-game road winless streak to start the season with a 115-100 win Sunday night over the Cleveland Cavaliers, who one game after ending their own historic losing streak fell back on bad habits.

Inspired by a speech over Sunday morning breakfast from coach Flip Saunders, the Wizards built a 25-point lead in the third quarter, held on as Clevelan

Young helps Washington to first road win Sun Feb 13 21:00:35 2011 EST
Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Nick Young led the way with 31 points, as the Washington Wizards snapped a 25-game road losing streak with a 115-100 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Washington's first road win of the year comes just two days after the Cavaliers halted an NBA record 26-game skid. John Wall added 19 points and 14 assists for the Wizards, who were closing in on Dallas' NBA-record 0-29 road start in 1992-93. Andray Blatche and Kirk Hinrich each chipped in with 17 points. Ex-W

Varejao had a procedure to repair a ruptured peroneus longus tendon in his right leg at Mercy Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina. Varejao suffered the tendon tear in early January
Cavs seek to end monumental skid vs. Clippers Fri Feb 11 11:14:00 2011 EST
(Sports Network) - The moribund Cleveland Cavaliers have been making some dubious history lately as the losses keep piling up. Byron Scott's club gets another shot to avoid further infamy tonight when they host the Los Angeles Clippers. Already in possession of the NBA's all-time longest losing streak another setback against the Clips and the Cavs would set a new major North American professional sports record with their 27th straight loss. Cleveland's most recent hiccup came on Wednesday to Ce
Cavs hope to end lengthy skid vs. Pistons Wed Feb  9 11:06:56 2011 EST
(Sports Network) - Despite an NBA-record 25 straight losses, Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Byron Scott believes the streak will end soon because he has seen improvement and more determination from his players. The Cavaliers will give it another shot at ending the lengthy slide tonight at home versus the Central Division-rival Detroit Pistons at Quicken Loans Arena. The Cavs will play in front of their fans eight straight times and are also slated to host the Clippers, Wizards, Lakers, Rockets,
Mavs run Cleveland's losing streak to 25 Mon Feb  7 23:08:37 2011 EST
Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Another win for the Dallas Mavericks, another loss for the Cleveland Cavaliers. So it goes. Jason Terry had 23 points off the bench and the Mavericks beat Cleveland on Monday, 99-96, to earn their ninth straight win and push the Cavs' NBA record to 25 straight losses. Cleveland had a chance to tie, but like so many other times during a streak that has lasted nearly two months, couldn't pull through. The Cavs secured the rebound after Anthony Parker missed a long th
Streaking Mavs host moribund Cavs Mon Feb  7 10:59:56 2011 EST
(Sports Network) - A year ago a matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Dallas Mavericks would be one to tune in for. Tonight it should be another walk in the park for the Mavs, who will shoot for their ninth straight win versus the declining Cavs from American Airlines Center. The Cavaliers established a new low with their NBA-record 24th consecutive loss on Saturday against Portland, breaking the old mark of 23 straight defeats held previously by the 1995-96 Grizzlies and 1997-98 Nuggets.
Cavs set single-season futility mark Sat Feb  5 22:10:26 2011 EST
Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - The Cleveland Cavaliers lost their 24th straight game -- a 111-105 defeat to the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night -- to set the NBA single-season record for most consecutive losses. The Cavaliers passed the 1995-96 Vancouver Grizzlies and 1997-98 Denver Nuggets, who each lost 23 straight contests. Cleveland, which hasn't won since a 109-102 overtime decision over New York on December 18, also tied its own NBA record for most defeats in a row. The Cavalie

Denver after Saturday's game before returning home to take on the Timberwolves, Mavericks, Nuggets and 76ers. Memphis, meanwhile, will carry a season-high five-game winning streak into tonight's matchup with the Rockets and just handed the Cleveland Cavaliers their 23rd consecutive loss with Friday's 112-105 victory at FedEx Forum. Zach Randolph had 29 points and 13 rebounds, Rudy Gay added 26 points and 11 rebounds and Mike Conley posted 21 points and eight assists for the Grizzlies, winners i
Cavs hope to avoid NBA futility vs. Portland Sat Feb  5 11:05:29 2011 EST
(Sports Network) - Tonight could be the night the Cleveland Cavaliers take the Grizzlies and Nuggets off the hook for the worst single-season losing streak in NBA history. The Cavaliers look to avoid that distinction Saturday versus the Portland Trail Blazers from Quicken Loans Arena, a place where they have dropped nine in a row and own a 5-16 record. The Cavaliers lost for the 23rd straight time in last night's 112-105 decision at Memphis, as J.J. Hickson led the way with a game-high 31 point
